Hello Romania, Chile, Slovenia, and France and welcome to a semi-sortta' day off post given that there's a lot of The Border Watch stuff attached and so not much from me as I finish covering this extraordinary and apparently quite costly attempt to try and give themselves some credibility on the issue of Public Consultation and Social inclusion and alleged responsible Planning and Development and blah, blah, blah...
I refer to previous posts re the ABC interview with Prof John Martin , whom Mt Gambier City Council spent a small fortune of Ratepayers money employing to produce and then promote this latest round of Consultation/Planning lunacy that nobody believes...and to the TBW article Friday 25th July 2014 re Prof John and his/this plan...I note that the TBW articles both praise-up/promote Mayoral candidate and current City Councillor Allen Smith and his compadre Cr Merv White...(whom I believe is also running for Council yet again-Ed)...indeed...
Allen Is The Key: to the future of Mt Gambier, apparently...snigger...(I also note that Cr Smith states that, "It is the first project where Council has asked for the community to be involved..."...hilarious-Ed)...indeed, Council never stops bangin' on about their bloody Public Consultation and then Allen comes up with that gem...priceless...
Another disgraceful display in state Parliament today...Premier Jay Weatherill yet again screeching his faux outrage at the ultimately complicit Liberal Party about how inappropriate they're being by 'playing politics with child abuse'...and that rancid turncoat Martin Hamilton Smith...(you sir are an absolute disgrace-Ed)...indeed, was on his feet squealing at his former colleagues 'Sexual Abuse, sexual abuse, sexual abuse, that's all you want to talk about, how about a bit of policy?' in defense of the mind-bogglingly incompetent Education Minister Jennifer Rankine...(whatta' prick, si'down you idiot-Ed)...again, indeed...
And what's the point of the Liberals calling a No-Confidence Motion against Rankine today when they know they ain't got the numbers to make it stick...and the bipartisan farce continues with the Liberal's Upper House Bill supporting a Children's Commissioner passing through the Legislative Council, but soon to be rejected/defeated by Labor in the House of Representatives, whilst Labor push their version through the Lower House (the Reps) and it will duly fail in the Upper House...
And Jay Weatherill's take on it?.. "I'd rather have no Commissioner at all than the Liberal's model"...(deadset, so business as usual then-Ed)...quite...he/Labor are blocking the Liberal model of a fully empowered Commissioner with the dual justifications that 1) it would cost $45million (no idea what that means though, the time-frame, etc) and 2) they, Labor, are sticking to the model as recommended in the Layton Report...(as in Robyn Layton?-Ed)...yep...(former Labor Premier John Bannon's wife?-Ed)...yep...(her massive report on Child Abuse from 2003?-Ed)...that's the one...(which had as Recommendation no.1 the creation of the Children's Commissioner?-Ed)...spot on...
(Eleven years after the event and now Ray-Jay wants to stick zeolously to the exact Recommendation that the Rann/Weatherill Labor government have flat out refused to acknowledge for a decade, and use that to justify forcing no Commissioner at all-Ed)...couldn't have summarised that rank Pro-Paedophile bastardry any better myself...
And well done WIN TV for just running the Riverland version of their 90 second Ad Break News Service...whilst I am interested in the latest Murray-Darling Basin Plan updates re infrastructure maintenance, etc, and the Riverland Field Days, not that concerned about Waikerie's Netball aspirations and I'd like to see what's happenin' here...just sayin'...
Just For Laughs: and sorry if I've used it before, but discerning cannibals prefer seasoned travellers...and because I have posted stuff above attached below only the half page ad that was on page 4 of TBW Friday 1st August (sorry about the double-up bit but it's all there, deal with it people), the same TBW issue that had the article Priority city projects listed on page 3, also below...
A Quiet Word To Council:...shhhhhh...(hilarious-Ed)...sorry, couldn't help myself...seriously though, a quick word, not nobody believes not nuthin' you gotta' say 'bout nuthin', not no time, not no how...nada, never, nought...
Tomorrow: More Club Go Go Bananas
(I'll get my glowstick whoop whoop-Ed)...
I am Nick Fletcher and this is my blog...cheers y'all and 'ron, laters 'ron...
