Listening to a long story on the ABC/BBC Radio yesterday about the litany of irreversible Contamination Events (spills/leaks/tailing dams collapses/whatevs) in the Pilliga State Forest in New South Wales from SANTOS's various Fracking operations there...and these weren't underground contaminations, these were surface spills that had flooded into other parts of the park, apparently with devastating results...I've heard other reports of contaminated ground water in that area, but I'm not sure if these are due to spills that have leached down or actual Fracking leaching out underground...
There's been some coverage of the Anti-Fracking Protest in Adelaide on Saturday but I'm not entirely sure what it is that these people hope to achieve with these 'demonstrations' because the Weatherill Labor government has clearly demonstrated exactly what's happening in SA in the near future, and it's wall-to-wall mines/Fracking/whatevs because the State is absolutely rooted financially and they ain't got no other tricks...
And I completely reject this recent waffle from the Penola 'Frackers' Beach Energy that they are looking for Conventional and/or Shale Coal gas sources...apologies if I somehow missed it, but I never heard one word about 'Conventional Gas' when this was all happening late last year...in fact, I distinctly heard Reg Nelson stating that Beach were targetting the deep Shale Coal Gas resource that they (Beach) knew was there because of the gas that had already seeped upward into the contained pockets that had already been harvested, eg, the Katnook Well...

Whatta' Crocka' Crap: is the latest 'Public Consultation' from Mt Gambier City Council, what a very expensive Crock...Council has spent $10,000s paying Professor John Martin to repeatedly travel to Mt Gambier re this farcical 'Vision For The Future' that we now get shoved in our collective grills, flush with the vacuous rhetoric spewing out of Council and it's various operatives, eg, The Border Watch, the Local ABC, etc...

In To The Valley Of Public Consultation: rode the 600, apparently...(allegedly-Ed)...does that mean you allege Ed, or rather alleging in the style of you?...(whaaa?-Ed)...to allege Edly...(ah nice but no, it's just an allegation being made-Ed)...anyhoos, apparently Council has thoroughly consulted 600 people re the exciting new City Development Framework Project...(ahahahahaaahahaaa...600 my imaginary literary device arse-Ed)...well quite...
(600 people is a farcical nonsense...Council can't get not nobody to respond to their alleged public Consultations because people are sick of being ignored, eg, the massive majority support for the Rail Lands Bus Terminus, completely ignored by Council in proceeding with the ludicrous Lady Nelson Bus Shelter, a decision motivated/demanded by the Rail Lands Retail Agenda-Ed)...correct on all grounds...and they can forget any flippin' plan 'cos ain't no-one buying it...again, I take no pleasure in the fact that this 'ere blog has more credibility than the entire Mt Gambier City Council combined.
My belief and as repeatedly observed to me is that this 600 number likely consists of repeatedly counting all the Councillors who attended all of the ratepayer funded 'Workshops' held at the Main Corner, who they talked to on the way there or back, any catering staff present, their families and friends, their friend's servant's tennis partners, yelling at a seagull flitting past, and some bloke in the Mess called Bernard, etc, etc...(were they catered 'Workshops' per chance?-Ed)...don't know, why?...(because if they were catered that would also have been paid for by ratepayers but the profits gone to a private contractor, as with everything 'catered' at the Main Corner/Old Town Hall-Ed)...I think you're right...
I've also repeatedly seen people carrying trays or even pushing trolleys full of food across from the Main Corner/Town Hall to the small Cafe run by the same people...does this mean that they're using the Ratepayer funded facilities in the Main Corner to prepare their fare for the Cafe? are Ratepayers subsidising that Cafe the same way we paid for Councillor Des Mutton's son Lachlan to have the Main Corner?...nothing would surprise me...
