Hello world and welcome to the blog...and that includes you Aotearoa (New Zealand), India, Taiwan, and the Netherlands...and yet again I choose to apologise to the Universe for our PM Tony Abbott whose capacity for Ideologically Driven Deceit knows no bounds...(I'm concerned that one day he will accidentally stroll in front of the truth because he just doesn't know what it is, and it will run him down from behind-Ed)...well quite...(apols for late post-fell asleep on couch watching State of Origin)
Again yesterday morning PM Abbott was refusing to answer basic questions, 'I'm not discussing Operational matters' but in the same sentence relentless bragging about what they claim to have done to "Stop The Boats"...at least 6 times I think...moronic monologued catchphrase over and over, that contradicts what you've just said about not saying anything...and then 'we've stopped the Budget Blowout'...(so how much does it cost to run Manus and Nauru Island centres, operate how many Patrol boats, etc?-Ed)...well exactly, and the boats haven't 'stopped', we are intercepting them and sending people back in bright orange taxis (lifeboats), or handing them back to the government they are fleeing.
Lies, Liar, Lies: Tony Abbott is the worst liar in history...(particularly given the practice he's had-Ed)...quite, but he outdid himself on Morning TV early yesterday when it was put to him that some mothers in 'Immigration Detention' had reportedly attempted suicide so that their children would be granted entry to Australia, and Tony responded "I haven't seen those reports"...then he went on about how we won't be blackmailed, and they are 'clothed, housed, fed...all the things that we do for our own'...
Good ol' Tones showing up on morning news clearly badly hung-over, and it's all a bit of a joke...good on you Tony, you champ. you man's man you...what a clown...(hang on, just the other day we were discussing that he has a personal army of 30+ Spin doctors, media watchers, etc, and we are to believe that nobody told him about what was on the front page of the newspapers that morning-Ed)...and apparently he must be too busy cycling to read it for himself..."I haven't seen that report"...bullshit, you liar...
No Tony, I don't give a metaphoric damn about Japan and forget PM Shinzo Abe's bloody speech, it is not an 'amazing moment', blah. blah, blah...this 'Deal' is nothing other than a complete sell-out of this country by corrupt liars making a deal with a global citizen who continues to do whatevs they feel like wherevs, whenevs, eg, poaching thousands of tons of Tuna, whaling in the Antarctic, etc...an 'Agreement' that creeps incrementally toward what we allegedly gain, yet immediately offers unfettered, unregulated access to buying Australia...it's a nasty, nasty joke.
Just hilarious to hear The Mad Monk PM talking about "our history and our geography" re Asia...(sorry, does he mean the Second World War?-Ed)...no, no, we are to forget all that except when the Liberals are ramping up the Militaristic Nationalism and rhetoric about ANZAC and/or Afghanistan, etc...I am deeply, deeply concerned about the rancidly rabid Liberal obsession with all things Empire and War, an obsession conveniently forgotten when the need dictates re Lunatic Trade Deals with a country we fought to keep out of ours, in my grandfather's generation.
Yes, Australia's behaviour was atrocious toward our WWI ally Japan when establishing the various post-war Treaties, and we have many questions to answer about our treatment of Aboriginal peoples and our actions as part of the British Empire, etc, etc, but what excuses Japan's actions across the Pacific and Asia in WWII?...and when it suits him, Tony Abbott is ramping up the rhetoric and jingoism and empty Nationalism of War, and when it doesn't suit, we're all apparently moving on...bollocks...
Tony Abbott has no ethic or genuine belief beyond Sectarian Serfdom for everyone who isn't a White Male Liberal...
And speaking of Mt Gambier Mayor Steve Perryman...(ahahaha-Ed)...he embraced his Liberal commitment to self and to deceit by fronting the NAIDOC Week Launch on Monday July 7th, and lying through his teeth...(well no, come on, he didn't lie exactly, he just re-worded the truth and omitted anything that contradicted the very false impression that he was very carefully trying to give-Ed)...technically true, but still, what a loathsome spotted reptile...deliberate deceit of Mt Gambier's Aboriginal/Indigenous population, spewed out of that smug smirk, on a day specifically meant to be about Respect and Inclusion...disgraceful.
(Which reminds me, that 'Stevie has won $1m in the Lottery' rumour, or rather rumours, have all suddenly stopped, nothing in weeks...no idea, but to montage/paraphrase, 'a women bought a ticket for her son who had either just got outta' gaol and/or turned 40, and that son was supposedly Stevie, who has apparently been seen splashing obscene wads of cash about town'...no idea...far more consistent though, the general observation that it's probably just Steve's way of explaining expenditure of some otherwise inexplicable sudden wealth...but I digress...)
Mayor Perryman made the specific statement that 'Council had voted to display the Aboriginal flag in Chambers, and that some would be saying it's taken long enough but at least we've done it now', etc...then he just went straight onto the next point, which I missed because I was walking away swearing to myself...(hang-on, hang-on, Council voted to 'display the flag' 6 months ago, longer even, and recently that 'decision' went backwards due to bickering about what flag, and there is nothing on display in the Council Chambers, well not as of the last Council meeting in June-Ed)...exactly...
There was also meant to be an official ceremony in May 2014, but as I say, the Flag is not up, and the 'debate' has gone backwards since that May date was missed, and Council is currently arguing about 'which Flag?'...all of this was carefully, deliberately omitted by Mayor Steve who presented a statement of fact from 6 months ago, yes Council did vote yes, but then he deliberately deceived by not identifying the current truth, that it hasn't happened yet, indeed it's gone backwards...Council, you are an embarrassing disgrace...
When I discussed these slight omissions with several people, they were very much of the desired impression that the Aboriginal/Torres St Islander Flag was already being 'flown' in the Council Chambers...(so it wasn't just your deeply cynical dislike for Stevie driving you to an inappropriate conclusion then?-Ed)...a question I always ask myself in these situations, but no, those people were distinctly unimpressed to learn that they had been thusly deceived.
But what really concerned me was that when I was discussing this with someone, a senior Aboriginal person from Burrandies/Pangula Mannamurna (?) standing nearby, interjected and immediately defended Council, 'oh yes, that's under control, we're negotiating that with Council about a ceremony'...that same nasty, thin-lipped public servant animosity sans effort to disguise it, in defense of the system...I'm discussing the extraordinary and deliberate deceits just perpetrated by Mayor Perryman, and this person went past all that, straight to defending the system...very concerning.

A Random Thought: I rarely drink these days, but not for any particular reason, but it never ceases to amaze me how organised we can be when it comes to making sure we have access to alcohol on an Industrial, Societal, Unavoidable scale, yet we won't/can't legalise Medicinal Marijuana...(or get organised enough to protect 7-8 year old children in schools in South Australia-Ed)...yes, but that's strictly a case of not wanting to protect kids because you want them vulnerable...welcome to South Australia...
