Hello Saudi Arabia, Turkey, Moldova, and Ukraine, and welcome to the blog...it's another sunny morning here in Mt Gambier...actually it's dark (0600hrs) and wettish, approx 9C (48F) outside, but yesterday, ohh yesterday, you should have been here yesterday, glory to god in her Garden that we scramble about on like the pointless amoeba we are, it was a beautiful day...
Yesterday I spent several hours hobbling about in my gorgeous garden, basically happy to be reasonably vertical, and enjoying the clear skies and fecund verdancy...(sorry what?-Ed)...luscious, fertile greenery of the many plants, Citrus trees hangin' with fruit, Jonquils flowering, Daffodils coming up, etc...(right, yes, they're both actually words, in the dictionary-Ed)...really? I thought I was making-up 'verdancy' from 'verdant', there you go...
Housekeeping: I was feeling a little bad about my Warnable Language yesterday...until they bleeped-out the F-bomb on the ABC2 political satire news thingy show The Roast, so I'm just cool like them...also sent to the Spam Bin another 'Comment' that was very complimentary but then seemed to be flogging dental services at the same clinic as in a previous 'Spamming'...and again, I ain't claimin' any sortta' moral high ground and/or perfection and/or infallibility, whatevs, in this here blog, not least of all because I'm irrelevant in all of this other than I'm posting about it...all of this remains the sickening reality with or without me...
Furthermore, my paranoia can't keep up with Facebook who have been caught-out deliberately manipulating people's news feed so as to send 'positive' feeds to some, and 'negative' feeds to other, and then monitoring their mood/attitude/whatevs responses on-line, etc, all as part of a university study...so me being paranoid about what's going in and out of my computer without my knowledge seems positively sane...(jeez, don't get accused of that real often, being sane I mean-Ed)...well never actually...
Just Gobsmacked: to hear an interview on ABC Local Radio yesterday morning with Regional Development Australia Limestone Coast Tourism Industry Development Officer and Mount Gambier City Councillor Biddie (Tietz) Shearing, in which Mrs Shearing blamed local Tourism operators/the SE in general for it's failure to make a decent mark on the state's Tourism focus...(and on occasion our failure to even make it on to TourismSA maps, etc-Ed)...indeed...it's our fault because we haven't organised a representative body for people/government to deal with, the same argument used by Tourism Minister Leon Bignell when dismissing concerns that Labor basically ignores the SE...
(But hang on, that was the exact excuse/rationale used to create her previously non-existent position as RDALCTIDO in the first place, back in March/April 2012...her job was created to fill that gap...it's her bloody job...Mrs Shearing has been our dedicated Tourism Officer for over 2 years, so she's the one getting paid to do exactly what she's criticising as not happening...it's just ridiculous, 'hello, the problem is I'm not doing the job that was created for me, but I'm gonna' blame everyone else'... sweet baby cheeses...sorry, is it just me?-Ed)...no Ed, it's not just you...and it gets better...(spare me-Ed)...
Then interviewer Stan Thompson went fully sick with the massive pro-Labor Dorothy Dixer asking if 'perhaps we're being a bit impatient', to which Mrs Shearing replied, 'yes we are Stan'' (paraphrased but damn close to quotes)...(we need to be a bit more patient...you are shreckin' kiddin' me?-Ed)...as an act of crass self-preservation I effectively shut-down after this doozy and missed the rest.
And there it is right there, vested interests getting together and running the Party line in denial-driven defense of the absolutely bleedin' obvious...Labor don't give a dead fat rat's festered clacker about the SE and Mrs Shearing and Mr Thompson don't give a damn either because they're doing just fine thanks very much...(and bully for them-Ed)...yeah, hooray for them, but when they go onto the public realm with crass self-interest fueling an agenda of deceit, denial, and attacking those who suffer, all in defense of those whom are to blame, well that's just not acceptable.
Commonwealth Bank Finds Religion: as they get on board with the Catholic Church's strategy of vacuous 'Mia Culpas' re the gross paedophile abuses they have perpetrated and defended, only with ComBank it's just about the bank's practice of deliberately de-frauding customers of their life-savings, destroying lives, etc, via dodgy CB Financial Advisors pushing clients into even dodgier CB funds...sorry to be so lax on the facts re the numbers, but it's all English to me and I still don't understand it...
But it don't take 'a mug of beer'...(self-referencing ones own joke/metaphor, 'Einstein'...nice-Ed)...to see that if there were just over 1,000 pay-backs to clients already, at approx $50million cost to CommBank, then with allegedly 10s of 1000s more clients fleeced...(the baaaastards-Ed)...nice, that hopefully there's all that paid-back, every cent, with the appropriate interest at standard long-term saving account rate, for example, and a dirty big ugly spiky fine that is specifically visited on all senior CB executives, the Board, etc...
But do you reckon any of these baaaastards will wind up in the Pen? honestly...(honestly? no...one likes to think there's justice in this country, but there ain't-Ed)...oh you're wrong my friend, we've got the best Justice money can buy right here in l'il ol' Straya...you got the cash, you get the justice, you got enough cash, you can avoid justice all together...but having said that, and as much as it pains me, I have met a couple of lawyers who are decent people...(damn them-Ed)...quite...
Not To Missa' Mia: the shreckin' Anglicans reckon they'll allow priests to report serious criminal offences divulged in 'confessions' but it's not binding and it's down to priests/congregations to decide...so not really maybe...(that's absolute bollocks...for decades the Anglican Church has at the first hint of danger, of action being taken against a paedophile priest/layperson/whatevs, they moved the perpetrator to a different diocese/church, defended them in Court, etc, and when it came to the Crunch moved them overseas-Ed)...ohhh, the Return of the Crunch, what is it with you and the Crunch?...Catholics priests are apparently "prepared to die" (and that's a quote, from Bishop Hart of Sydney I think it was), to 'keep the confessional sacrisanct'...
Apologies that I haven't fully explained the extraordinary 8 year gaol term handed down to the Western Suburbs School 'After School Carer' Mark Harvey after he was convicted of raping an 8 year old in his care, and why it simultaneously sickens me and drives me to a bloggy rage...(yeah, that's hardly adequate for such a horrendous crime, let alone the breach of professional trust, etc...it could be argued that a man capable of such machinations shouldn't be allowed out again, that he might be put in a little box somewhere and fed proper and given an hours daylight and then back in his box-Ed)...well quite...
Pathetic as that is, it's not one sentence for one crime, he has received a total combined sentence of 8 years for that rape and the assault of 4 other girls...(8 years for raping one girl and assaulting 4 others, that's so outrageously pathetic...I can see why you look at this sort of judgement/conduct as effectively pro-paedophile-Ed)...find me another explanation and I'll gladly run with it, apologise even, but until then, it's exactly what it looks like...an absolute bloody outrage...and it gets better...
Amongst the many lies told by Labor Ministers on the floor of Parliament re their/the Education Depts many attempts to cover-up the abuses, was the lie that 'there are no other victims', and then that he was in gaol and it was all over...but then 4-5 more families came forward and the already gaoled Harvey was charged and convicted of those Sexual Assaults as well, leading to a total sentence of 8 years...and that's a non-parole of only 3 years, 3 months...for raping an 8 year old and Sexually assaulting 4 others...
I'm just going to say it again in case anybody has missed the fact that this man was employed in a position of extreme trust, and therefore should serve the maximum penalty for such a horrendous crime, plus 50% more for the breach of trust...given my experience and knowledge gathered over a decade of dealing with this stuff, I believe that Harvey has worked to get himself into that job to get to kids and therefore this compounds the crimes he has 'planned' to commit.
Regardless, and I don't know if it was the same judge but whatevs, Mark Harvey has been through 2 Court hearings re the gross abuse of 5 girls, and he's received a total of 3 years, 3 months...(yeah, that sure pisses me off, don't blame you for gettin' a little antsy-Ed)...it's a bloody outrage.
