DeBelle Toll - Zero - An Inquiry Without Consequence

Hello Brazil, Venezuela, Germany and all points in between...ask not for whom DeBelle tolls for it's toll is zero...A Royal Commission into the Cover-up of the rape and/or sexual assault of several 8 year old students, and not one person charged, not even one person sacked...

(Well that's not quite true, the After School Care Director who committed the rapes/abuses was jailed-Ed)...that was before the DeBelle Inquiry even began...(oh yeah-Ed)...indeed it was the exposure of the Cover-up of that jailing that led to the creation of the DeBelle Inuqiry...(true, but what about Education Dept CEO Keith Bartley?...he was sacked-Ed)...

No, he may have been 'shoved', or embarrassed into resigning, or intimately complicit to the point that he had to run away back to England, but he wasn't sacked...he took a massive payout and bolted...call it what you will, but he wasn't officially reprimanded in any way...(true-Ed)...

To quickly review: parents were not told about their child's Carer being jailed for the rape of an 8 year old in After School Care, and when it was exposed in the media, Labor ministers repeatedly lied on the floor of parliament, seeking to blame SAPol and/or parents (the school Council) for the gross failures within the Education Dept.

And senior Education Dept officials like Head of Schools Gary Costello were furiously threatening the school Council and/or other parents to keep it all buried, and when those lies and threats collapsed, the Weatherill Labor government formed the DeBelle Inquiry which self-defines as a farcical whitewash.

Nobody can remember anything, particularly Mr Weatherill's personal staffers Simon Blewett and Jadynne Hervey who forwarded the email they had received but can't remember to who, and the Ministers are completely exonerated, and nobody gets sacked...and then it is constant referring and deferring to the DeBelle Inquiry.

I re-iterate: the DeBelle Inquiry was established to officially exonerate all public officials and Ministers involved...a 'scathing report' that achieves absolutely nothing...and builds an official wall between accountability and the culture of 'paedophile Cover-up' in the Education dept and Labor Party...(a wall?-Ed)...yeah, a wall of denial that seeks to allow Premier Weatherill et al to ignore every abuse and cover-up, etc, that preceded the Inquiry by referencing everything to it...(still don't get it-Ed)...

Well, it allows them to say to every issue that comes up 'pre-DeBelle' 'oh, yes that's terrible, but it's all different now because we have the DeBelle Inquiry', and/or, 'we're doing everything according to the DeBelle Report', etc...(ah, yes, the official script of plausible denial-Ed)...nicely put sir...

And they have all been doing it...Weatherill, Portolesi, this weeks Education Minister Jennifer Rankine, Gary Costello, and of course...(Tony-TH)...Tony...(nnnHarrison-TH)...Tony Harrison...all of them.

Now a third 'Advisor', Kate Baldock, this time from the then Education Minister Grace Portolesi's office, has been revealed as a recipient of the notorious Email that the previous Education Minister Jay Weatherill's office sent to...well they apparently don't remember...(and of course they 'wiped' the relevant computers as well-Ed)...yes, how unfortunate...unless of course you were about to be exposed as knowing about the abuse after swearing repeatedly that you didn't...very convenient for those people...

A third Ministerial advisor who knew about the jailing, but allegedly did not tell Minister Grace Portolesi. Good thing that these multiple alleged professionals didn't do the most fundamental thing and tell their relevant bosses about this Cover-up because then Weatherill, Portolesi, etc, wouldn't be able to deny all responsibility.

And now the new Chief Education Officer...(Tony-TH)...Tony...(nnnHarrison-TH)...Tony Harrison is really getting tough on those public servants who didn't bother to respond to the first round of 'Please Explain' letters...by writing to them again...owwww, take that Public Servants...not one but two letters asking you to explain your role in covering-up the abuse and the jailing of the abuser...good work all round...

There are multiple stories available on the Interweb so rather than trawl through it all again here, please check those...I tried 'Kate Baldock DeBelle' and came up with heaps...happy hunting...

And there's Liberal David Pisoni stamping his little foot and going harumpf...'ooo, I've got some documents...blah, blah, blah'...and now Weatherill is going to release all of those documents publicly...fascinating...releasing the documents from the farcical DeBelle Inquiry that supports and protects all of those involved...a 'scathing' Report where scathing means farcical cover-up...

I'm still waiting for the phone call from Pisoni...and Weatherill's office emailed me a month ago that they were "getting advice" but nothing since...and still not one word from Nick Xenophon...and still not one mention of the Lutherans re any report of abuse anywhere let alone in the alleged Royal Commission...the whole thing is a sad, sick joke from sad, sick people...

Also, the two stories re corruption in the South Australian Police Force, particularly at the Victor Harbour/Goolwa Station, are both now on the Channel 7 Today Tonight website...check them out...and join me in wondering just how bad the St Martins Lutheran School Child Abuse Cover-up is that TT won't touch it but will run this sort of story...

Tomorrow: Yet More Council Propaganda in The Border Watch

Have I used the word farcical too many times today already, do you think?...(well you will pick subject matter that self-defines as farcical, so I'm not sure what else you can do-Ed)...so is that a yes or a no?...(you figure it out grasshopper-Ed)...

Yay...I am Nick Fletcher and this is my blog...av'a good weekend...cheers and laters...

Covered Swimming Pool: One Hole Council Won't Pour Money Into

Hello France, Russia, and Canada...welcome to the blog...and surprise, surprise... 'Dick Stretcher' is back just long enough to get it wrong again...and an anonymous coward to the end...perhaps you should read the posts a little more carefully champ and you'd realise I'm going nowhere...metaphorically and literally...

You sure you don't have anymore insightful observations about parents suing St Martins Lutheran School just to make money?...about the abuse of our children?...how about some more bigoted prejudice re Housing Trust Tenants or the unemployed?...what about Agoraphobia?...homelessness?...anymore gutless idiocy?..(nothing but-Ed)...indeed...

I thought that once you realised you'd been 'outed' that you would be keeping a low profile...but once an idiot always an idiot...(what do you mean 'outed'?-Ed)...oh, did I forget to mention that...it appears that there is 'honour amongst thieves', but not in the way that you'd expect...(please explain-Ed)...certainly.

Apparently the comments about 'my child' in the first 'Dick Stretcher Comment' were beyond the pale for someone who still has a shred of human decency, so they have approached me and identified you DS...thank you that person...and I've passed on those details to some people who would like to discuss your comments with you...they'll be in touch...who's in the shadows now dickhead?...(ah now, come on, you can't do that-Ed)...damn straight I can...(no no, come on, play nice-Ed)...no...(come on, tell the truth-Ed)...alright, alright...I made that last bit up, there's been no outing...(thank you-Ed)...but there are plenty of people who want to 'talk' to you DS...(damn straight-Ed)...

Furthermore, I could have left this 'fiction' to hang for several days to really ram home the message, but I have broader horizons to consider, and there are plenty of people reading the blog who I do not want to deceive in this manner.

I offer this 'fake outing' as a demonstration of just how easy it is to create a false reality if I so choose, and also to highlight the tools of language that I use, not to deceive but to protect, eg, if I say that I 'spoke to someone yesterday', that person could be easily identified and potentially damaged/attacked/Pariahtised, etc, so I say 'recently', where recently could mean a day or six months...and 'a number of people' could be one or dozens, for the same reasons...

I know it sounds terribly naff (pretentious), but I say 'a number of people recently' not by way of deceiving, misrepresenting, or falsely creating, but to protect those who provide me information,...and I am always very careful to check my facts...and if I'm wrong about something, please tell me, and then I'll apologise and correct what ever it is...which segues nicely into the Covered Pool Issue and my previous apology to Mr Barney McCusker.

More news this week about the Covered Pool that Mt Gambier is never going to have, courtesy of a Council locked into it's 1950's small town thinking and corruption...(some days I feel like we're living in that Patrick Swayze movie Roadhouse-Ed)...yeah, a cross between that and The Dukes of Hazzard...

I readily accept that Mr McCusker is very genuine in his pursuit of a Covered Pool, which only makes his recent comments all the more confusing...and I'm not being cute, I genuinely don't understand what he is saying...at best, I think he's trying to be politely diplomatic in a situation where outraged indignation is probably more appropriate.

Council has now stated that they are already committed to so many 'Capital Works' that they won't be looking at a Covered Pool for Mt Gambier until 2017/18 at the earliest...and even if you could believe a single word coming out of Council, their language indicates that it will be at least five years before they even start looking at it, let alone planning, let alone building...so that means what?...no pool in the next decade?

And the relentless and deliberate hypocrisy of Council's justifications for this fiasco stampedes across that fine line separating deceitful 'spin' from outright lies...nothing but lies...

I refer to The Border Watch coverage and the ABC Local Radio interviews earlier this week where Council trotted out the same old lies, and Mr McCusker for some reason stated that this is a good thing.

Council has been aware of but effectively ignored the pool issue for decades, and gone past it time and time again to support ludicrous projects like the Main Corner...the exact same conduct as with the Bus Terminus...(and the Old Rail Lands-Ed)...

'We've go too much other stuff we're already doing and therefore can't afford it' is a false justification entirely of Council's own construct...Council is in the position it is because of It's own decisions to go right past the Pool Issue, again, and load itself up with debt and projects that are not necessary...(sorry, did someone say Paving the Main Street?-Ed)...not yet Ed, wait for it, wait for it...

This nonsense about suddenly needing $2million+ for the Caroline landfill has only recently appeared in the debate, particularly when you consider that Council must have known for years that the current 'Cell' was apparently filling up and therefore a 'New Cell' would be required 'now'...even if true that Council has just realised this, at best it is atrocious mismanagement of an important public asset that Council already collects rates for.

Why hasn't Council been responsibly saving over the years the money they have been taking off rate-payers for what they must have known was required?...nothing but spin rolling into deceits sliding into outright lies...

And again Council trots out the excuses/lies about how the Pool needs to be financially viable and self-funding before they can consider spending ludicrously exaggerated amounts of rate-payers money on it.

This 'must be self-funding' is the same justification that Council have repeatedly used to excuse not doing what they don't want to do, but completely ignore when it comes to the things that they personally want to do, eg, the Library and the Main Corner.

Where is the Business Plan for the Main Corner?...(or the Library-Ed)...indeed...these two combined, cost the ratepayers of Mt Gambier well over $2million a year and escalating, and no hope for any of it ever being recovered...and the Business Plan for the $650,000 Volcano Movie?..

This movie is a perfect example of the insular and selfish conduct of Council...a gross extravagance that Mt Gambier didn't need and couldn't afford, rammed through Council without any Public Consultation, all at the behest and want of a handful of people...selfish and elitist and $650k never to be recovered...and no funding for Public Transport...

I don't care how many people go to the Library, it doesn't change the reality that everyone in Mt Gambier has been loaded up with massive debt for a grossly over-priced, decorated tin shed built in entirely the wrong place...(and we pay for every after hours 'Book Launch', etc, as part of the running cost-Ed)...absolutely...

And too bloody bad if you rely on public transport to try and get to these 'functions' because there isn't any...and again, Council's excuse for not funding public transport?...(it doesn't pay for itself therefore we're not funding it?-Ed)...precisely...

Indeed, Council's planning for the Main Corner is so poor that they had to hold meetings after it was built to try and gather ideas of what it could be used for, and have employed several people to effectively poach business off local providers to try and reverse justify it's entire existence...outrageous.

I have covered all of these issues in previous posts and it always comes back to the same motivations...a handful of Councillors doing what they personally want for their own benefit and/or that of their mates, and no better example than the Main Corner.

But none of this explains Mr McCusker's comments that 'it is a good thing that Council have named 2017/18 because it means that they are looking at the pool issue' (paraphrase)...I honestly do not understand why he would be saying this is a good thing.

Mr McCusker, of all people, knows exactly what successive Councils have done, or failed to do, re the Covered Pool Issue because he has been pursuing it for so many years.

Because of the size of the articles I won't attach them, but they might be available at TBW's website.

Tomorrow: DeBelle Ends - But What Has Actually Happened?

And I didn't make up 'the outing'...or did I?...or am I making that up?...or am I...wait, I've lost where I was...

Nah, nah, go' bless, go' bless...I did make it up, but I am definitely Nick Fletcher and this is my blog...or is it?...(stop that-Ed)...sorry...

Oh, and thank you for the feed-back about me mis-spelling the 'Labor' Party as Labour...not checking my own 'spellchecker' properly...my bad...

Democracy: Best Government Money Can Buy

Hello China , the UK, South Korea, and the USofA...welcome to the blog...this title is an old saying that perfectly sums up the current political climate in Australia...minor parties and genuine Independents are a major inconvenience for the two major parties, and the push is on to return Australia to the total control of the increasingly indistinguishable and Right Wing Liberal/Labor Party.

I note that Liberal leader Tony Abbott has done a "captain's pick" (his words) to direct all candidates to preference the Greens last, meaning that Liberal preferences may well end up with Labour...and that Labour's Kevin Rudd is under pressure to do the same. Both parties have already stated that they will not form minority governments with the Greens.

Today is the final day that Candidates may Register to run in the Federal Election...and clearly I won't be one of them...(you must be devastated-Ed)...no...disappointed but hardly devastated...I was running to be appropriately involved in the process, not because I thought I had a snowball's chance of actually being elected.

Barker is a super-safe Liberal seat where they have won around 50% of the primary vote at previous elections, and would require a 17-18% swing against to effect change.

I will be lodging the attached letter/appeal and formal Nomination form, but given that I don't have the required 120 signatures or the $1,000 fee, my nomination will be rejected...(but you knew this would happen-Ed)...indeed, but it doesn't make it any more palatable...

I won't pretend that I'm not deeply disappointed by the response, or lack of, particularly from some people who have been more than prepared to tell me how I should and/or shouldn't conduct myself, but have declined to actually get involved...(but can you maintain that rage?-Ed)...absolutely...well, at least for one paragraph...

One paragraph, because when I calm down I have to accept the realities that I myself have described in previous posts...the extremely bigoted, insular, and retributional 'fish-bowl' that is Mt Gambier, where people are literally terrified to speak out, let alone officially attach themselves to someone as controversial and 'officially hated' as myself.

I was reduced to fronting local businesses anonymously, with zero success, but again I can hardly blame people...(indeed, if you fronted me asking for my address, birth date, and signature, I wouldn't be too keen...and I know you-Ed)...indeed...it is a farcical obstacle to genuine Independence.

I have no family in the electorate, no support network, and I only know a handful of people, none of whom I feel comfortable in approaching for their support in this context...as stated previously, as much as I have been deliberately 'Pariahtised' and isolated by the bigotry and ignorance of the Lutheran community and the rank corruption of local government, etc, I have also deliberately distanced myself from a number of people so as to not drag them into my crap...(and then there's the cash-Ed)...yes, well, that's another issue.

This $1,000 is a massive impost that denies the vast majority of people any opportunity to be involved as Genuine Independents...how many people have $1k to burn in a context where they are not likely to ever see it again, just for the sake of running in an election they just can't win...

I can just cover that $1,000 initially, but there's no way I could afford to lose it when I don't get 4% of first preferences...(about 4,000 votes-Ed)...indeed...even if I had the prerequisite 120 'nominees' signatures...(I thought you said it was 100 signatures-Ed)...yes, but you are 'requested' to get 120 just in case some aren't enrolled, are not in the electorate anymore, etc...

As per my 'protest Nomination', these criteria are grossly biased against genuine Independents and 'poor people'...indeed, on the issue of the fee, this is clearly discrimination...$1,000 is an entire month's income for me, and that is on the Disability Support Pension which is relatively well above Newstart payments for the unemployed...(indeed, how many 'working families' have that sort of money to lose?-Ed)...

I am very clearly a Genuine Independent; I am not a bankrupt nor do I have a criminal record; I have been deeply and often 'brutally' involved in local, state, and even federal politics; I have run as a Genuine Independent at the 2010 State and Local Government elections; and yet I am unable, no disallowed from running by these grossly biased criteria.

And that is exactly what these criteria are designed to do, lock genuine independents out of the race...(sorry, but I don't think they've changed the requirements just to 'get you'-Ed)...indeed, but these criteria are specifically targeted at people like me...(fair enough-Ed)...

Compare this to some of the other candidates, eg, the One Nation candidate who thinks Islam is a country, etc; Liberal's James Diaz who cannot name his parties' own policies; and former cricketer Nathan Bracken.

Mr Bracken has apparently 'been thinking about politics for some time' and only days from the close of nominations suddenly drops out of the sky on a parachute called John Singleton...Advertising 'magnate' Mr Singleton is financially and logistically supporting 2 candidates including Mr Bracken who himself has no political experience what-so-ever...(and is calling himself an Independent?-Ed)...yep...(but surely he is the 'John Singleton Party candidate'?-Ed)...yep...best government that money can buy...

Beyond that, I am very surprised and buoyed by those who did offer their support and it far outweighs the sense of disappointment re those who would not....thank you...

Again, I reject the gross bias and discrimination inherent in the 'Nomination Criteria' as being a deliberate construct to deny genuinely independent candidates from participating, let alone the undeniable bias against people on low incomes...

I can only apologise for failing to even nominate, but I have lodged my complaint/protest with the local AEC office and I thank the local Returning Officer, Mr Lane (?) for his time and understanding...he has undertaken to pass my complaint 'up the line'.

Tomorrow: The Covered Pool Fiasco - One Hole Council Won't Tip Money Into

I do find myself somewhat floored by the extraordinary hypocrisy of Council when it comes to not doing what doesn't personally benefit them, and their relevant excuses and justifications...

I am Nick Fletcher and I am not a candidate...yet...and I will not stop...and this is my blog...

When I said I consider myself to be already in the employ of the society that financially supports me, I absolutely meant it...and if Councils, Weatherill, Rory, et al, think I've been a pain thus far...

South Australia - This Is Your Police Force

Hello Bosnia and Herzegovina, Ukraine, Brazil and Thailand...welcome to the blog...what the world must think of South Australia off the back of my diatribal accountancy...(whaaa?-Ed)...diatribal accountancy...my attempts to hold certain individuals to account via various diatribes, my various one-sided rants...(fair enough-Ed)...

But yet again the problem isn't me or my anger or my opinion...(but you're not happy, are you?-Ed)...no, but we'll get back to that...the reality about SAPol defines itself.

But first...Tony Abbott...maaate...describing a young female candidate as having "sex appeal"...why would you say that?...but here's your plausible excuse - 'ahh, the Liberal Party is often accused of not being appealing enough to younger voters because of the plethora of ugly old man-coots like me...we're accused of not being 'sexy' enough...so I was just highlighting all of those attributes that the candidate brings in those modern terms...oh, and stop the boats'-TA...you can have that one Tones...gratis...

And surprise of surprises, yesterday 13/08/13 The Border Watch printed a photo of me at the Homelessness Week function described in a previous post, and gave me the title of 'Independent Senate Candidate'...which is very confusing because several months ago Editor Jason Wallace told me personally that TBW wouldn't be printing anything on my behalf for the election...but there you go...

And then today's TBW printed my requestedly anonymous story of homelessness (previous post) as part of a larger article...'requestedly' because I wanted to see the issue/story get in there so I suggested to the reporter that maybe she should leave my name out of it...

And just listening to Mayor Steve Perryman on ABC Local Radio regurgitating Council's own internal yet apparently independent report...(why do they keep trying to make this 'Independent' nonsense fly?-Ed)...to distance Council from the nepotism and corruption inherent in virtually everything they do...(fair enough-Ed)...their report stating that an Indoor Pool will cost $12m to build and will run at an estimated $1.8m loss per annum, and due to Council's other large capital works program, Council cannot afford this until 2017/18 at the earliest, and that cost will mean cutting other services, etc.

Please insert here the long list of pointless, expensive projects that Council has invested in rather than the Pool/Sports precinct, eg, the Library, the Main Corner with Commercial Kitchen and extraordinarily self-indulgent $650,000 Volcano Movie, the extensive renovation and expansion of Council offices, the Lady Nelson Bus Shelter, paving the Main Street, etc...

(But the Library is lovely-Ed)...no it isn't...it's an ugly $12million+ tin shed with some books in it that drains $1.6+million a year to operate, and we already had a Library...both it and the Main Corner are all about forcing the City into that tiny area so as to keep the Rail Lands clear for the Rail Lands Retail Agenda (previous posts)...that and to cater to the elitist Liberal bloc who are absolutely convinced that Mt Gambier is to be run for their benefit.

Just check out the relentless bleating in TBW from the Riddoch Gallery about how they need to be handed yet more rate-payers money...apparently over $220,000 annual funding from Council and the state government isn't enough...not to mention the recent ratepayer funded massive renovations...(ah, you just did-Ed)...my point exactly...(whaaa?-Ed)...

And where is all the missing/lost money from the Library and Main Corner projects? And who the hell is allegedly 'Auditing' Council yet apparently cannot see these 'losses'?

And Council apparently is also to withdraw it's pledge to contribute/add to state government funding for lights at the notorious Wireless Rd/Penola Rd intersection...I subscribe to the repeated observation that it will take fatalities at that intersection to prompt state government funding...Put In A Bloody RoundAbout And Sod The State Government...a Roundabout that directs right lane traffic onto Wireless Rd is a cheap, quick, workable solution that will not compromise traffic flow along Penola Rd.

But this is all just incidental localised malfeasance compared to the corruption in SAPol as witnessed with their conduct over the St Martins Lutheran School Child Abuse Cover-up and the latest expose on Channel 7's Today Tonight, from their program Monday 12th August.

Today Tonight's story 12/08/13 outlined the extraordinary and clearly corrupt conduct of SAPol officers in the Victor Harbour/Goolwa area as alleged by a 'Career Criminal' turned 'Whistleblower'...corruption that included SAPol 'planting' a stolen fire-arm in his car (a charge that he was cleared of in Court), and centred around a local property where police were regularly seen 'socialising' with the property owners.

Neighbours and/or the whistleblower allege drug dealing and paedophilia (possibly prostitution) occurring at the property, possibly bodies buried there, etc, and when reported to authorities, it's the 'reporters' who are under the hammer from police...

Also, specific assertions from the whistleblower that he knows who controls drugs and prostitution, etc, in South Australia, and to quote him...'it's not who you think'.

The whole thing ran for over half the program, and I urge readers to access it via Channel 7's Today Tonight website...they usually take a couple of days to put stories up...but, for all the clearly defined corruption of the officers involved, and the allegations/associations with drugs and paedophilia, etc, it is the last 2 minutes that are mind-boggling.

The young female officer who took the whistleblowers initial statement (I think following his 'fake' arrest for the planted gun), and therefore was privy to many of his specific claims about the corruption in SAPol that he was aware of, this young woman was found dead in her workplace.

Today Tonight didn't state exactly where that was, but it is clearly a SAPol office or station or whatevs...and there has been apparently no reportage of this extraordinary death, or a SAPol Inquiry, or a Coroner's Inquest...and according to TT, when they contacted SAPol to enquire further about this woman's death, they were allegedly told to 'move on and just forget about it'...

It is absolutely chilling that a SAPol officer involved in a case of police corruption can 'die' in a SAPol facility without explanation, and there is not even an Inquiry...the clear inference is that her death is related to the Corruption issue, and that those who should be investigating the death are either those responsible for it, or at the very least covering it up...extraordinary.

I missed TT's follow up program segment last night, but it apparently didn't mention the young policewoman's death.

Personally, I find it extra-extraordinary that Today Tonight has failed/refused to run the St Martins Lutheran School Child Abuse Cover-up Issue, but will run this...how bad does that make the St Martins Issue that TT won't touch it?...and why?...are we looking at a paedophile ring operating out of St Martins with the participation of those Senior Lutherans, local officials, SAPol officers, media, etc, who are undeniably complicit in the Cover-up?...I've repeatedly had this asked of me or suggested to me as a possible explanation for the massive corruption around the St Martins case.

And now of course, we have...(Tony-TH)...Tony...(nnnHarrison-TH)...Tony Harrison, straight from the head of a clearly compromised and corrupt SAPol...corruption that is at least mired in if not actually driven by the paedophilia issue...now Tony Harrison is the CEO of the Education Dept...not so much a fox in charge of the hen house as swine happily luxuriating in sewerage...(nice but failed attempt to 'politen' it up-Ed)...I'm trying, really I am...and I re-iterate my personal position that there are Police Officers and then there are Pigs and that they are very different creatures...

If you as reader are troubled by my disrespectful abuse and name-calling, I ask that you review some of the posts re the St Martins Issue, a Child Abuse Cover-up that has happened with the complete and unwavering support of the South Australian Police Force hierarchy and specific local officers...and if even that isn't enough, look at the 'death' of this young woman...

So next time you're laughing at the corruption in other countries, or even states, have a good hard look at what is occurring here in good ol' SA...have a good hard look at yourselves...

Tomorrow: More Election Farcicalness

(oo,oo-Ed)...yes...(sing it to Queen's Bicycle Race...Farcical, farcical, farcicallll race-Ed)...oh, nicely done Ed...and segues nicely into the other Bike Race story about the Great Southern Tour thingy...

I am Nick Fletcher and this is my life...I'm sorry, I mean...and this is my blog...cheers, toodle pip, and tally bally ho...

Letter to Candidates

Howdy y'all...shortish and repetitive post with no imagination and sans humour.

I have not yet sent this letter, not least of all because I'm having trouble getting some contact details, but as indicated I require only a written response at this stage, and there is nothing in this letter that hasn't already been on the blog.

Beyond that, several of the candidates already know about the St Martins Lutheran School Issue, a couple of them for quite some time.

The Australian Electoral Commission states that they will not have all candidate contact details until nominations are officially announced 12noon Friday 16th August, so it may not be sent until then, but I will send to all candidates on the same day and post the details.

Re-Zoning Issues in Mt Gambier

Hello Spain, Romania, France, and here at home, Australia...said it once and say it again, I am amazed that people outside of the South East of South Australia are following my blog...let alone in other countries...

I feel almost selfish and insular churning through the same old local corruption issues after watching the latest ABC doco on the 'Iraq War'...and for all the horror therein, this program still seemed to almost 'gloss over' the fact that Saddam Hussein was a 'Western Ally' supported for years even decades as a buffer against the Islamic state of Iran in Iraq's war against their Eastern neighbour...

And when Saddam Hussein allegedly used chemical weapons against Kurds in Northern Iraq, it was reportedly with a biological agent originally provided by the USofA, incubated and mass-produced using German built equipment, and then dispersed via a German built spray system attached to a French supplied fighter jet...('allegedly' because there are various conspiracy theories about other countries, factions, etc, committing this atrocity to damage Iraq...some even suggest it never happened).

And this (alleged) attack occurred in retaliation for the Kurds support of the 1991 USofA intervention in the Iraqi invasion of Kuwait, where the USofA recruited the Kurds as allies, but then turned around and left Iraq and so left the Kurds exposed and vulnerable...

And the almost daily carnage in Iraq continues 10 years after George W Bush declared 'Victory'.

Not Happy to Be Right: I confidently predicted that it would be extremely difficult if not impossible for me to get the required '100 Nomination signatures'...(it's actually 120 to allow for exclusions-Ed)...to allow me to run as a Genuine Independent in the Federal election because I know only a handful of people in Mt Gambier...(indeed, through-out the seat of Barker-Ed)...indeed...and most people who do know me hate me because that's what they've been told to do and/or that's what they need to do...(well, that or they've met you-Ed)...ta'...remember, Nick Fletcher's the only real problem.

I've covered this in recent posts...the choice is yours...(and the Nominations are...a fundamentally pro-paedophile gravy train of corrupt public officials, or, Nick Fletcher's a lying, delusional bastard-Ed)...I'm not lying and I wish I was delusional...(but you're definitely a bastard-Ed)...fair enough...and two out of three ain't bad...and this 'choice' is why I literally hang myself out to dry in the way that I have on this blog.

I (we few parents) have been specifically, deliberately portrayed as the only genuine problem with the St Martins Lutheran School Child Abuse Cover-up, as recently raised again in 'Comments' on this blog...we are either crazy, or bad people who are trying to make money out of the poor innocent ol' Lutherans...may they rot in hell...(indeed-Ed)...

And I am not surprised at the look of abject terror in some peoples eyes when I ask them to officially align themselves with me by signing an official form, and I absolutely understand...they know full well the sort of retribution they will potentially be subjected to by petty thugs like Greg Muller who has a well established reputation for lobbing on businesses doorstep to bully and threaten them...and that is a statement of fact, not my opinion.

I've also run into several people who aren't registered voters, and I have encouraged them to enrol...and thank you to those whom have offered support...even though I don't actually know most of you...

Just watched the Prime Minister Kevin Rudd vs Opposition Leader Tony Abbott debate and the only thing I came away with was that I don't think South Australia was mentioned...or Tasmania...or even Melbourne...(but you can't say for sure...and tell them why-Ed)...indeed...

The really scary thing is that I was trying to watch attentively, no note taking even, but I actually found myself literally zoning out...I went to that 'I've heard it all before' place where you just don't believe what is being said by either side and you stop listening...(I believe that it is a natural defence mechanism to protect oneself from the frustration generated when faced with two people whom one doesn't trust-Ed)...well that makes sense...

One side won't fill in the details to support what they are saying, and the other has a well established record of just lying...'we wont do this' and then they do...you figure out which is which...and one will be our illustrious leader...yay...

Closer to home, and the same old attempted manipulation of the news cycle to avoid or go around the actual realities...and there's Graham Greenwood in The Border Watch yet again (Friday 2nd August 2013-attached below) with his own unique recreation of history...

Firstly, there is no way that either Mt Gambier City or Grant District Councils are about to allow 'Amalgamation' whilst there are those on either side who want to be running the show and it will mean the loss of a number of rate-payer funded positions with associated benefits and perks.

To the other extreme, the vested interests on both Councils who are operating in clearly definable collusion re the Bunning's/Penola Rd/Millicent Rd/Rail Lands issue may decide that they can more effectively control re-zoning, development, etc, to their collective benefit if they just all get together on the same Council...but why bother when it's already happening...

Which segues nicely into the involvement of former Labour Planning Minister Paul Holloway who acted specifically to give the Grant District Council and certain Councillors therein exactly what they wanted at Millicent Rd with preferential re-zoning from Light Industry back to Bulky Goods/Retail whilst crushing development plans for Bunnings at Penola Rd by re-zoning that site right back to 'Deferred Urban'.

City Council are absolutely complicit, spending years dragging/blocking Re-zoning applications at Penola Rd because vested interests were...(still are apparently-Ed)...obsessed with a self-serving Shopping Centre on the Old Rail Lands which I have repeatedly covered under the Rail Lands Retail Agenda...and this 'dragging' whilst the Millicent Rd site received super 'fast-tracked' approvals.

Clear and undeniable collusion between both Councils and the Planning Minister for the benefit of a handful of Councillors that has devastated appropriate development in and around Mt Gambier...which segues nicely into the Mt Gambier Master Plan...

As per previous posts, the MGMP is a farcical attempt to legalise and reverse justify the official corruption that preceded it by trying to call all that 'A Plan'...do all the self-serving re-zonings, development, etc, and then ratify a plan that allegedly calls for all of the things you've just done...(you want to say farcical again don't you?-Ed)...yes, that and then some...

"In most cases there were few problems with re-zoning land..." is simply not true...the Boundary Adjustments and preceding re-zonings, etc, have destroyed any chance of appropriate development around Mt Gambier as we scramble to try and replace the vast Light Industrial Zone on Millicent Rd that is now Bunnings and housing estate, with bit-piece re-zoning of other areas, eg, along Penola Rd...few problems my hat...

And all the way through Graham tries to portray these personally profitable Council collusionings as being responsible and unavoidable decisions made in response to the actions of Paul Holloway...at best it's a case of 'oh, gee whiz, we're just doing what we've got our mate to tell us to do'.

And further diffusion of responsibility by dragging in the Development Planning Authority and Environmental Protection Authority, both wholly and corruptly under the direct control of the Labour state government...'Independent Authorities' be hanged, these are government agencies doing the government's bidding.

Call me vain and arrogant, but Graham seems to be specifically addressing my relevant posts re the 'relocation' of the NF McDonnell Mill, and I do not see how the grossly inappropriate location of other Timber Mills in the suburbs of Mt Gambier somehow justifies another one.

I continue to be swamped with various theories and/or allegations about the location and/or operation of the NF McDonnell Mill, but I have chosen not to print these until I have more than 'rumours'.

I have no hesitation however in repeating my claim that NF McDonnell Mill is receiving highly profitable preferential treatment from the Weatherill Labour government with a view to supporting and using them (McDonnells) to make others look bad and hide the damage that the Forestry Sale (Privatisation) is doing (has already done) to the local and/or state economies...

Just listening to ABC Radio discussing with Mt Gambier SAPol 'vexatious' and 'slanderous' and 'anonymous' content on Social Media....('flaming' I believe is the term-Ed)...and how it's a very serious crime with potential jail time, etc...all very familiar but at the same time a very real problem that must be addressed...

My name is Nick Fletcher and I may be angry and I may even be wrong but I ain't vexatious and I sure ain't anonymous...

Tomorrow: My Letter to Candidates re The St Martins Lutheran School Child Abuse Cover-up

With the election only one month away, I believe that it is time for all candidates to publicly declare how they will help resolve the inter-locking layers of official failure re this critical issue...and please don't say 'oh, the DeBelle Inquiry 'll fix it'...

Again, I am Nick Fletcher and this is my blog and I am flamin' mad, but I'm definitely not just flaming...and I have not removed or blocked any comments left on this blog...cheers and laters...

2013 Election Candidate Review

Hello the USofA, Germany, France, and Aotearoa (New Zealand)...welcome to the blog...and, for what it's worth, my summation of the various candidates...the eclectic collection of prospective contenders for the impending election.

Brief Aside: As I understand it, Aboriginal Australians do not have a specific definition of, or name for, Australia as a country, rather names for individual areas, geographical features, etc, and many of these names have been assimilated by us European occupiers, eg, apparently 'Canberra' means a woman's breast...(and some would say 'invaders' not 'occupiers'-Ed)...fair enough...

This Review is somewhat complicated by the fact that I don't actually know most of these people...(that, and they live in Adelaide-Ed)...indeed, and dare I admit it, what I do know comes largely via The Border Watch newspaper, local ABC Radio, etc...and I know it sounds very parochial, but I immediately prefer a candidate based within the seat.

There are issues of trying to access health services, lack of other services, etc, that can only be truly experienced from within, and community attitudes and experiences that you won't see from Adelaide...however, the Interweb does somewhat counter the Adelaide media's tendency to ignore Regional South Australia by offering access to our local news services.

To the other extreme, some local candidates are clearly aligned to local vested interests whom have collectively rooted Mt Gambier right into the ground...so which is the lesser evil?...

I would also suggest that 'Interwebbing' the candidates would be the quickest way to access specific information about them and the parties they represent...but I'd be careful about taking any Party's or candidates internal information as absolute fact and I'd be looking at what they don't say just as carefully...sounds obvious but it's worth keeping in mind...for example, I do note that Family First advertising and literature appears to be very quiet about the fact that they are a 'Christian-based' Party.

Good, bad, or indifferent, this sectarian affiliation will obviously impact on policy and I find it an issue that they would not have this 'declaration' at the fore-front of their campaign...I'm not suggesting that they are specifically trying to hide anything, but the supposed Separation of Powers and of State from Religion are both issues that require appropriate disclosure.

I concur with FF claims that they have done some good work in SA state parliament raising issues that both major parties don't seem particularly interested in and/or concerned about...(or at least genuinely concerned about-Ed)...indeed, good point...particularly issues of regional SA.

However, for some people Religious affiliation is enough to decide their vote and that would often be 'away' from that organisation/party, and I feel that this is possibly the motivation for Family First...they are acknowledging that there is more (votes) to be lost than gained by openly promoting their 'Christian base'...however, I defer to their candidates to explain their specific position...and in the seat of Barker this is Kristin Lambert.

I know that it's very depressing to constantly consider...(bang on about, you mean-Ed)...the demise of your community, but these are the things that are happening, and 'off-blog' people are stating to me their own personal concerns about the fact that Mt Gambier is 'going backwards'...and backwards at an accelerating rate with no clear indicator of where that will stop.

Again, I make no claim to being 'the voice of the people' or anything like that, but as much as possible I talk to people...(it's getting him to shut up that's the trick-Ed)...about what is going on for them and what they think, and the constant concern is this accelerating decline of Mt Gambier.

And whilst this decline is largely driven by the entirely selfish and self-serving Politicians in Adelaide who are far more concerned with their own re-election than anything that happens in Regional SA, it is the equally selfish, rampant corruption of local officials that greatly exacerbates this damage.

Mt Gambier is doing it tough enough with the constant and ongoing withdrawl of public services and the related jobs and the income that generates for the local economy, etc, but then you have the local officials who are destroying what's left...(have effectively already destroyed-Ed)...well, yes, that's the real concern...that the damage that City Council and the Grant District Council have done with their mutually beneficial personal land re-zonings, development approvals, etc, is irretrievable. (see previous posts)

To make an unpleasant metaphor...it's like repeatedly getting punched in the face (by the Rann/Weatherill Labour government) while your own team (local government and your local member) punch you in the back of the head.

I have already covered in previous posts what I think about candidates Liberal Tony Pasin and alleged Independent Richard Sage and the extraordinary chronology of dodgy land re-zonings and development deals that have specifically profited serving Councillors, etc, that these two have been intimately and officially involved in as members of local government.

One need look no further than the Bunnings/Big W/Millicent Rd disaster and the related Rail Lands Retail Agenda and Main Corner fiasco (as per previous posts) to see where local elected officials are making (have made) decisions based not on what is best for their community, but what is best for themselves and their mates.

And I for one am absolutely sick of it...(and you're not the only one-Ed)...damn straight...whilst not everybody is entirely supportive of how I conduct myself personally and/or on this blog, the over-whelming response is 'thank god somebody's giving it a go'.

My recent comments about the National's Miles Hannemann are not a specific endorsement of him as a political candidate, but my observation of him as a person based on a couple of phone calls and one shortish meeting...my statement that the National candidate, whoever that is, is the obvious choice as a 'protest vote' in the safe Conservative seat of Barker, is one made on the fundamental realities of the wider contest, not on specific personality.

And the same for the Labour candidate Phil Golding from Millicent...the little bit of feed-back I've had about him is relatively good, but my concern remains that Labour persistently offer relatively decent people as candidates to gather the Labour vote, but are really betraying their own candidates and actually supporting alleged Independents coming out of the Grant District Council with those Labour preferences.

They did it to Brad Coates for Rory McEwen in 2006, and to Viv Maher for Don Pegler in 2010.

I know nothing about the Palmer United Party's Mr Balwinder Singh or the Green's Mark Keough outside of what has been in The Border Watch...as party candidates I think it's safe to assume they follow those ideals and platforms.

I look forward to the declaration of preferences that will indicate where these parties lie with respect to one another...and no, I haven't missed the reality that preferencing the Nationals would potentially be directing them to the Liberals Tony Pasin...

I cannot support the Liberals, but consider this appropriate because of the well defined and established Conservative nature of the seat of Barker.

Tomorrow: More Mt Gambier Re-Zoning Issues

I was just staggered to see Mayor Steve Perryman grinning inanely on the front page of The Border Watch under a headline that says how great things are going for the South East...poppycock and balderdash...

I am Nick Fletcher and this is my blog...cheers...
