Nothing To See Here and Nothing To Hear, See - Wind Turbines and Solar Thermal

Following the last few day's bizarreness of Piper Alderman Lawyers pulling down yet more posts, etc, we...(hang on...what's this 'we' business...you're on your own matey-Ed)...gee thanks...anyway, I return readers to our regularly scheduled programming...

The Wind Turbine 'debate' is ramping up as the Federal election approaches...I say 'debate' in inverted commas because it has been a one way torrent of mis-information, manipulated data, and outright deceit pouring out of the Clean Energy Council (self-titled Industry Lobby Group), alleged professor Simon Chapman, Turbine companies, and assorted supporters and Turbine hosts.

So it was again this week with the 'launch' of the "Act on Facts" campaign by the world's largest Turbine manufacturer Vestas...(serious?...Vestas have started a campaign about 'the facts'?...what a crock-Ed)...indeed...but it gets better...Vestas senior vice president Morten Albaek wants to encourage the "quiet majority" to get more active in campaigning for Turbines. (The Border Watch Tuesday 18th June 2013-attached below)

And there's former Wattle Range Council CEO Frank Brennan talking about the "silent majority" whom according to him support Turbines, and the extraordinary statement that Turbines have "...been good in regional areas..."...nonsense...they have been hugely divisive, totally un-economic, lowered adjacent land values, sent electricity costs through the roof, and the legislation in South Australia is outright Fascism...

Literally everything is wholly in favor of Turbine developers and citizens have absolutely no way of opposing or stopping Turbines anywhere in the state...(oh, except of course around the Barossa Valley where 'special exemptions' have been made in the interests of 'Tourism and Visual Amenity'-Ed)...indeed, and the rest of the state doesn't count...

I repeat that Visual Amenity is the grounds on which the Environment, Resource and Development Court accepted farmer Richard Paltridge's successful 2011 appeal against the 40 Turbine development proposed by Acciona for the Allendale East area as approved by the Grant District Council (previous posts), and VA has now been effectively legislated out of the equation.

Visual Amenity has now been removed as a Grounds for Appeal, with provisions set at 1km from non-host dwellings, that's one kilometre, to be 'screened by trees and plants'...140m high towers with 45m long blades, only 1km from your house, supposedly blocked out by plants...and hence 'Nothing To See Here'...this is a ludicrous, nonsense, a pseudo-solution that has already been dismissed as pointless and irrational...it simply doesn't work...and in South Australia that has become law...farcical...

And because these Factual Failings of Turbines are legion, and the gross pro-Turbine bias of the entire legislation is irrefutable (previous posts), proponents clutch to unproven, vaguely esoteric arguments around health issues in a desperate attempt to distract from the facts...and hence the focus on attacking the un-tested problems some people experience with living near Turbines...there is no genuine 'science' or appropriate testing either way so proponents can say what they like...

These health issues revolve around the audible and 'sub-audible' noises generated by Turbines and their blades, etc...and proponents ridicule these problems/symptoms, etc, and hence 'Nothing To Hear, See'. 

It is hugely concerning when people like Frank Brennan, as CEO of the South East Local Government Association (SELGA) is so subjectively biased...(or worse, ignorantly supportive-Ed)...indeed, on such a critical issue...he is either ignorant to the numerous legislative and economic problems with Turbines, or he is deliberately ignoring all of these realities to support Turbines.

I note that the article (TBW 18/06/13) has no 'identified author', it is anonymous, and does not mention Mr Brennan's role as SELGA CEO, a critical and clearly deliberate omission. this is typical of the deceit and 'anonimity' that defines the pro-Turbine lobby.

I completely reject that assertion by Morton Albaek that;
          "The wind industry is being attacked by a media divvy and politically influential adversaries
            who often display a brazen disregard for factual information."

This is at best a cynical reversal of the realities that Turbine companies have the absolute support of government and the media and relentlessly lie about virtually every aspect of Turbine development...and at worst potentially delusional...does he genuinely believe this...and you know that I don't accuse others lightly of such things as suffering a Mental Illness...previous posts...but the question remains, is he genuinely delusional or cynically disingenuous?

Please review previous posts re this outrageous pro-Turbine bias, often on the Australian Broadcasting Corporation, where proponents get lengthy interviews to reel out their deceits, sometimes anonymously, and opponents like myself get very little actual air-time and usually only a short message read out.

Credit where credit's due though, the ABC Mt Gambier has marginally improved it's reporting of Turbine opponents or critics, and it is true that Turbine proponents like the CEC constantly approach the media when seeking to spread their deceits, but I am still the only Genuinely Independent local candidate in the Federal election, the  Opposition to Wind Turbine Fascism (OWTF) candidate, and I still have a struggle to get messages read out.

On Friday 14th June 2013 I attended a Solar Thermal Presentation and Forum at the King's Theatre, organised by Community Action Sustainability, with invited guest speaker Daniel Spencer, a member of the Australian Youth Climate Coalition.

I am always pleased to leave a meeting/forum/whatevs, having contributed intelligently and politely, and knowing more than when I went in, and so was the case with this forum...

Mr Spencer was on the Local ABC Radio promoting his presentation on 12/06/13, where he made a comment that people opposing Wind Turbines on issues of 'health' were "scaremongers", so naturally I felt compelled to attend and challenge him on this point and inevitably several others.

I was pleasantly impressed with Mr Spencer whom seems to be a genuinely concerned and very active advocate for the cause of Solar Thermal Power Generation. His presentation was very professional, well researched, and in the ensuing debate he demonstrated a broad knowledge of issues of Power Generation.

He was involved in organising (and participated in) the Pt Augusta - Adelaide march in support of a Solar Thermal Unit to replace the Playford Power Station at Pt Augusta.

Early on in the discussion I politely identified myself (with a deliberately broad smile) as an opponent to Wind Turbines, which was met with several groans from the audience and a wry smile from Mr Spencer, but it was all good...(oh here we go-Ed)...oi, back in ya' box...it all went really well, particularly given that there were those in attendance who simply won't listen to reason...these people exist on both sides of the argument...any argument...

(And very few arguments have only two sides-Ed)...very good point, and that is why I make the differentiation between people like the CEC whom are driven by self interest and profit, and people who genuinely embrace an ideology but are not prepared, or unable, to question their beliefs...there is a chasm of difference.

I chose to stay away from most of my Turbine stuff other than when specifically referred to, eg, my concerns that given the axing of Research Funding for Geothermal and the move away from Solar Thermal as well, the $10billion Clean Energy Finance Corporation would be channelling the vast majority of that $10b into Turbine subsidies...and that concern was shared by some of those present...

This and many other issues were covered in what was a convivial meeting, and there was a sharing of knowledge across the audience as much as with Mr Spencer. I was very pleased with the over-all tone of the event, even if some clearly remained un-convinced about my 'Anti-Turbine' argument and/or position.

Mr Spencer then spent nearly an hour chatting with myself and several others after the official event, and I was impressed with how respectful he was of my opinion and argument re Turbines, particularly the issues of 'Legislation'. We are very much on the same page on the importance of Geo-Thermal (or 'HotRock') generation as the one true way to provide 'Clean Base Load Supply', the fundamental and critical failure of Wind Turbines, Wave Energy, and to a lesser extent Solar Thermal...weather reliant technologies are vulnerable to un-favourable conditions and require Base Load Back-up...

On a personal note, I was genuinely pleased to be able to attend two such critical meetings in one day (previous post re Disability Judicial Access) and redefine how pragmatic I can be for the good of the debate...I consider it a win/win...a win for me personally, and a win for informed debate...it is often the case that my speaking out is the catalyst for others to follow...

If I had leapt angrily into either debate it would have turned people away from my contribution and stifled said debate...(gooooooo hippy-Ed)...yay for me...

Piper Alderman Lawyers Pull Yet Another Post Again Once More

For some reason Piper Alderman Lawyers keep having my posts pulled down and still they have not contacted me.

Just today at some time the post from May 6th 2013 has also been pulled. That post was about the posts removed April 1st 2013...(so let me see if I've got this right...they have complained about the post you put up about the post they pulled about their representation of the Independent Schools Board (now AISSA), various Lutherans, and St Martins Lutheran School Mt Gambier-Ed)...um, yep...

It would appear that they do not want anyone to know that 1) when I wrote to the Lutherans and the AISSA asking them to explain their conduct re the St Martins issue, that Piper Alderman Lawyers responded on their behalf and 2) in the manner that they did this...and indeed, that they Piper Alderman Lawyers even represented the Lutherans and AISAA.

It would appear that by putting the name of that first post (01/04/13) in the post 06/05/13, that has been enough to have the post 06/05/13 also 'pulled'.

So no names, no pack drill (as Pops would say)...just the facts...and the facts are contained in the three letters in the post still up...for now...and pre-empting the problem that Piper Alderman Lawyers will have with that post June 18th 2013 I'll just add to this here post the one letter that proves that they were representing the Lutherans and the AISSA.

This letter does not defame anyone...it is just a document of fact that proves that I continued to try and sort this out in appropriate ways and that this is the response that I received. If the other letters are removed (that post 18/06/13) I'll 'redact' them and post again...and again...and again...

You'll also note that I leave my name and address on these letters to verify them as mine...they are genuine documents sent to me...and I'm in the phonebook anyway...

Piper Alderman Lawyers Have More Posts 'Pulled Down'

As per previous and now removed posts, Piper Alderman Lawyers represents/ed the Independent Schools Board, the Lutheran Church, St Martins Lutheran School Principal John Alexander and senior Lutherans Barry Kahl and Adrienne Jericho.

When I wrote to the above re the June 2002 removal of grade 2 teacher Glyn Dorling from St Martins Lutheran School Mt Gambier, my complaints, concerns and requests for information were 'answered' by Neville Johns of Piper Alderman lawyers.

I covered this in two posts on April 1st 2013, and sometime shortly thereafter Piper Alderman had the first post removed but not the one containing the main letter from Neville Johns. I don't know why because I have received no notification from Piper Alderman or Google.

I responded to this removal in another post May 7th 2013 by posting the three letters I received from Piper Alderman Lawyers, and now after 5 weeks that post has also been pulled along with the second post from April 1st, and again I have no idea why.

That's 6 posts pulled and apart from random threatening letters from DeGaris Lawyers, I have received no official notifications explaining what it is I am apparently doing wrong.

I guarantee that those posts are factually accurate as evidenced by the letters in the two recently removed ones...(yeah...that doesn't quite work now that they have been removed-Ed)...um, yeah...

All I have is what you have, a notice on each post to go to ChillingEffects. Again I can only assume that my opinion on such matters as the conduct of Piper Alderman Lawyers is the problem so lets try this...

Please review other posts re the St Martins Lutheran School Child Abuse Cover-up and then read the next post to which I will separately attach those letters sans any script, so if they then get pulled its clearly about the issue.

Disingenderous - Julia Gillard and Howard Sattler

I was sorely tempted to call this post Gays, Lesbians, Misogynists, Paedophiles and Man-Haters, specifically to highlight just how unrealistic and inappropriate it is to try and define people with broad stereotypes, particularly based on sexuality, and that the human animal is more than capable of being many things, some related some not, and many concurrently...

Of course there are many gay men who aren't paedophiles and a few heterosexual women who are...yes there are misogynists and man-haters (don't know the technical term), members of both genders whom genuinely hate the other...and sometimes those issues stem from traumatic experiences, etc... 

The reality remains though that the vast majority of physical and/or sexual assaults are committed by men, and that women are in many respects removed as individuals and presented relentlessly as a sum of their body parts...their role is defined as how best they can serve men...

And yes there is clearly a 'glass-ceiling' attitude with some men and/or companies, an 'Old Boys Network' if you will...but soulless selfishness and morally blank conduct is not the preserve of men...nor is being harassed the preserve of women...

Some people find it hard to comprehend that a man can be sexually harassed, yet I have personally had many times in my life experience where I have been 'harassed' by female and male bosses, married women and men, etc, and sometimes all in the same interaction.

For example, when I was working as a Courier I had my line manager hassling me daily because the woman he liked liked me, a married senior female employee (my 'boss') occasionally going the grope un-invited, and a depot manager who just had to try and be 'the Alpha Male' in a context where he wasn't, and that included inappropriate touching as well...
It is widely acknowledged, indeed the ABC (possibly SBS?) recently ran a long story about the issue of lesbians and gay men engaging in 'Marriages of Convenience' to be able to access various legal and/or citizenship rights not afforded to committed gay couples...somewhat sad but certainly understandable, and not to be confused with being 'Disingenderous'...

Disingenderous -  To be Disingenuous on issues of Gender...and yes that is a made-up word...a 'Fletcherism' if you will, in the tradition of Pariahtisation and Fascocracy (previous posts).

I am so sick of the mindless, vacuous and closeted response to the Howard Sattler interview with Prime Minister Julia Gillard about the reality of her relationship with Tim Matheson and/or his sexuality, something that has apparently been 'rumoured' for some time.

Also, I'm sick of being lumped in with misogynists and anti-abortionists and 'sexism' (which should be called 'genderism') and all of the other 'ists' and/or 'isms' that Julia Gillard slings in a desperate attempt to distract from the policy debate...and particularly after using language like 'Mincing Poodle' or 'Fat', etc, to describe others.

Former Prime Minister John Howard was/is relentlessly ridiculed for his height, his eyebrows, his laugh, his tendency to stammer slightly when agitated, etc, and these physical/behavioural traits were/are always exaggerated in parody, pillory, and outright abuse...and so it is with Julia Gillard...cartoonists in particular make a living from 'exaggerating for effect' the physical attributes of their subjects...

I only ever use the word 'Slut' in self-reference, and I'm appallingly bad at relationships to the point that I stopped having them in my mid-twenties out of respect for the women involved, but that doesn't make me misogynist or anything else...it just makes me me...(you poor baby-Ed)...and I fully support people's right to whatever 'Adult/legal' relationship they want to be in...and the right for a woman to decide whether she wants to endure the trauma of abortion...I subscribe to the observation that 'if men got pregnant, then there would be 'Express Abortion' lanes at the supermarket'...

I know/have known gay people, gay couples, women who have had abortions, etc, and in every instance they are just people trying to live their lives...and I ain't no misogynist, either... 

My Pops used to literally hand his pay to Grandma who ran the household, and her local Meals on Wheels branch for 30+ years, and her tennis group, and daily knitted jumpers to donate to charity, all whilst enduring multiple 'Cancer' operations across decades, and my Mum was a 'single mum' who worked full-time to put her children through a private school, provide a good home, food, health care, etc, leaving almost nothing for herself, with virtually no support from my father who left when I was about 4 years old.

The strongest role models in my life are unquestionably women and it has had a definable, definitive effect on how I interact with women.

I don't know much about the 'Tim's gay' rumours, or 'shock jock' Howard Sattler, and I agree that saying Tim being a hairdresser is indicative of him being gay is just a stupid and un-helpful generalisation, but the specific issue of the veracity of the relationship is a perfectly reasonable and I would argue critically important subject to be discussed.

Personally, I don't care if Julia Gillard is gay, or Tim is, or any one, if they are genuine in that context...the issus is one of deceit and the potential for that deceit to taint debate, discourse, and even legislation...and for that deceit to be discovered and then manipulated, eg, you give me the legislation/approval/funding/whatevs, that I want, or else I'm going to 'Out' you ..

That is, if the Prime Minister, male or female, is involved in a disingenuous relationship to deceive the electorate, that is of grave concern because it becomes an issue of National Security.

When I was involved with various 'Child Protection Groups' in 2004/05, one of the major concerns expressed was the number of gay and/or paedophile state politicians, particularly those engaged in 'false' heterosexual relationships, and the extreme right-wing sexual attitudes and politics in some sections of the Education Department, etc...the whole tone was one of deceit and disingenuousness...(previous posts)

Here is the direct connnection with notorious paedophile politician 'Terry', officially identified as serving MP Patrick Conlon (by former MP Rory McEwen-previous post), who was/is accused of engaging teenage male prostitutes...

The first time I saw Jay Weatherill I thought he was about the 'gayest' man I'd ever seen, and was very genuinely shocked to learn he was married...that isn't a slur because I don't care particularly about his sexuality so long as he is honest about it... 

I don't loathe MLC Ian Hunter because he's gay and travelled to Spain to 'marry' his partner, I loathe him because he was part of the Statutory Authorities Review Committee that 'investigated' the Teachers Registration Board for 3 years and then signed his name to the deliberately erroneous SARC Report no.54 that effectively exonerates all involved in the St Martins Child Abuse Cover-up, most particularly the very authority they were meant to be investigating, the TRB, and continues to leave children extremely vulnerable.

Please review my previous posts re the Paedophile Lobby that is clearly 'running' Adelaide, and the role that PM Julia Gillard and Premier Jay Weatherill have played in helping the Lutheran Church cover-up the gross abuse of a class of 7 year olds at St Martins School Mt Gambier, and the fact that these people are all Alumni of Adealide University and the Adelaide Labor Party...Jay Weatherill used to go out with federal Labor MP Penny Wong...

That's why I hate them with a passion...not because they're gay or not, or because of their gender, or their skin colour, or whatever, I loathe them for their corruption and deceit and outright pro-paedophile bastardry...

1) Disability Legal Access and Equality and 2) Solar Thermal Pesentation

If I may allow myself a small pat on the back for a week of attending meetings (the Mt Gambier City Council Special Budget Meeting on Wednesday 12th June (previous post) and the two meetings below on Friday 14th June), particularly following the annual unpleasantness of the June long weekend anniversary of the 2002 dismissal of teacher Glyn Dorling from St Martins Lutheran School, Mt Gambier (previous posts), and particularly when one of those meetings directly related to the St Martins Issue...(if I may?-Ed)...certainly...(all roads lead to Scum-Ed)...nice...

 As per previous posts, Agoraphobia not only makes it difficult to even leave the house, literally, but to attend meetings where you know that your presence is going to be met by a wall of abuse and unpleasantness, that is some hard yards right there...I largely don't want to go to any of these meetings and have to deal with any of these clowns...even their intense discomfort just at my presence is no genuine recompense for the fact that I shouldn't have to be be doing any of this....

It is just my nature that, having committed to what was effectively happening in my life any way, I just accept that that's just the way it is...(clumsily put, but true-Ed)...but the reality is that for me to become involved at all things must be diabolical, and indeed it was the St Martins issue that made me 'political' at all...

I don't claim to have all the answers, but the fact that I'm doing this is a direct indication of what a disaster things are when you scratch the surface...and the beautiful, scything irony is that I am a Monster of their own Creation...ahhhh, it's Frankenfletcher...get ye olde pitchforks and ye quaint pastoral torches...it is a running joke that 'I feel most comfortable in a room full of people who hate me because that's what I have grown accustomed to.'

Anyway; nearly lost amongst the avalanche of lies, deceits and various excuses from 'authorities' for their abject failure to investigate Dorling's behaviours, sanction him in any way, and in the case of SAPol (Police), not even interview him, the closest thing that parents have had to an official excuse is that 'the kids are/were too young to give evidence in Court, and would not be able to withstand the rigours of cross examination from a defense lawyer'.

(Note: I remind readers of the extraordinary conduct of Premier Jay Weatherill's business partner Stephen Lietschke who acted as Dorling's defence lawyer in the Teachers Registration Board/Crown Solicitor Hearing (previous posts) where he was given carte blanche to attack deeply traumatised parents, including taking parents personal documents off them in the middle of the hearing, calling us liars, himself lying, etc...outrageous...and fodder for a post about Flat Wicket Bullies.)

I attended the Attorney-General's Department: Improving the criminal justice system for people with disability Forum/launch on Friday afternoon 14th June 2013.This apparently comes under the second of seven 'priorities', "Safe communities, healthy neighbourhoods"...(seriously?-Ed)...as identified at the bottom of the cover page, where the first priority is apparently "Creating a vibrant city"...get that down ya' Regional South Australia...but I digress...again...

I view this 'Discussion Process' with absolute cynicism and seething contempt as a stop-gap farce to try and engender support for Labor from the 'Disability Sector' and assorted bleedin' hearts heading toward the March 2014 state Election.

Because of this I was reluctant to attend the Forum given that the St Martin's issue would have to be discussed and that could quite possibly lead to 'conflict' and/or disruption of a very important meeting re a critically important issue...but I also had to attend for the same reason, to raise the 'kids aren't old enough to give evidence and that's why we did no investigation' excuse/justification.

Our kids were all capable of expressing themselves but 'allegedly' were too young, so Dorling walked away scott free...combine that with the added difficulties of dealing with kids who do have communication issues, for whatever reason, and they are completely vulnerable.

So I attended the meeting briefly to ask a 'Disability Sector Worker' to raise the issue and then I could go, but that didn't eventuate and I ended up sitting at a table with two 'Sector Workers' (no offence ladies but I don't know your correct titles) and  Ms Ruth Ambler, Executive Director Strategic Policy and Organisational Performance...(don't look at me, I've no idea what that actually means either-Ed)... 

Anyway, I successfully diplomatted my way past my personal belief about the process as outlined above, and contributed thoughtfully and respectfully to the discussion. As part of that I explained the specific issues of the St Martins case and how they related to the current debate, and made my point that lawyers need to be kept away from witnesses, victims, distraught parents, etc, so they cannot manipulate vulnerable people with their aggression and intimidation...

And that this can be done with a '2 room' solution where the person to be 'cross-examined' has a support person and a 'Court Appointed Advocate' with legal training and is never in the same room with the lawyer, prosecution or defence, whom has to submit written questions based on prepared statements, evidence, etc.

This process is monitored by the Magistrate who can direct the Advocate to adhere to the questions, etc, and the defence lawyer, jury, etc, can monitor the proceedings from the body of the Main Court. The 'lawyer' is to be afforded several opportunities in each session to re-submit questions, etc.

This is partially done in the current Court system, but application appears to be quite random and does not preclude badgering and harassment from the 'lawyer'.

I also observed (without mentioning any names) that the high profile child pornography case currently underway in Adelaide, highlights the ridiculous, numerous, gaping loopholes in current Court processes and legislation that totally complicates the issue...what's the point of getting Disabled persons better access to a Court system that will still fail them! 

My submissions were taken in very good faith, and I believe I generated a genuine understanding of exactly what happened at St Martins and how the relative critical issues remain un-addressed.

And just listening to Bernard Finnigan trying to have his sole remaining 'Child Pornography' charge "Stayed Permanently'...that is, not thrown out or removed, just shelved...only to then hear that this arvo the Director of Public Prosecutions has lodged two new charges...please see previous post re this issue...call me a paranoid cynic, but this looks like a way to push the whole fiasco past the next state election...new charges will take at least a year to be 'processed' through the Courts...

St Martins Lutheran School Pastor Wayne Kerber - Letters

Much trouble with Interweb again so quick post whilst I canneth thusly and then some...(oh yeah, just like Shakespeare-Ed)...tomorrow, yesterday's today post...

Attached is my letter to Wayne Kerber when he started at St Martins in 2006. His predecessor John O'Keefe was one of numerous senior St Martins staff involved in Covering-up the abuses described in these letters and previous posts, who have been moved out of South Australia.

Please note that I tried to be nice about it when he first started at St Martins despite my personal belief that he knew all about the abuses committed by Glyn Dorling, actually writing to him to apologise for being a bit rude, but he never even responded.

I have stayed away from the actual premises of the Lutheran Church, etc, but when Wayne Kerber had the soulless audacity to commit the bare-faced effrontery as evidenced in his attached article, I took the attached letter in to 'St Martins House' personally, and was rewarded with one truly bizarre 'Twilight Zone' moment...as I walked in Ms Cara Kilsby was seated at her desk exactly as per the photo below, and Wayne Kerber was standing right there next to her..I believe I may have let slip a small laugh...

Wonder if he'll do another interview with The Border Watch?...we can only hope...
